The story of Leaves Personal Care really begins with a mop and a bucket. 28 years ago, our leader, Brian Wilson got a job as a custodian in a nursing home in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He quickly learned that caring for the elderly was an honor, joy and privilege. It turns out, it was truly his calling in life! God directed his path and he became a certified nurse’s aide, then a nurse, then the assistant director of nursing and finally worked as a nursing home administrator for 12 years. Along the way, God brought many wonderful mentors and team mates into his life, shaping and developing him. One of those people was his dear wife Ruth who came with her own special preparation, training and experience. With a degree in Psychology, and hands on experience as an event planner, activity director and education coordinator in a nursing home, their background, training and passions aligned to equip them to lead Leaves Personal Care. It was an unexpected honor when the founder and owner of Leaves Personal Care came to them, asking them to take over the reins of the business she had poured her heart and soul into. She knew that Brian and Ruth shared the same passion for caring for the elderly, not just as a way to do good, but as a way to build God’s kingdom and care for his people.
Our passion is to help seniors maintain their dignity and independence at home through meaningful relationships. We are committed to treating each client as a unique individual, just as each leaf is unique.
